KOPPS Reveals the Dangers of Consumerism in ‘Oh Dang Dang’

The two things (well, three, if you count the money, honey) that electro dance pop trio KOPPS knows very well are booty and dance beats, and they’re using their expertise to plunge into a happy spell of buyer’s remorse on their latest single, “Oh Dang Dang.”

“Oh Dang Dang,” was released four days ago on all streaming platforms, and it begins with vampy vocals and a secret shopper mission. Lead singer Patricia Alexandria’s euphonic voice then becomes the gateway into an intoxicating, head-banging buildup of synths and cymbal crashes that keeps listeners’ adrenaline levels high throughout the rest of the track.

KOPPS brings harmony to the mosh pit through subject matter that resonates on a bigger-picture level, and that’s why “Oh Dang Dang” is a great track for listeners to celebrate in collective rebellion. As the confession of the conflicted woman near the end of the track suggests, society is often caught both rejecting and reveling in its obsession with “gimme gimme culture,” a disease for which there is no cure. But that doesn’t stop KOPPS from poking fun at the seriousness of it.

“It’s [Oh Dang Dang] is kind of a doozy. Describing the subject matter makes it sound more serious than it is, so I am going to let listeners decide,” Patricia Alexandria said of the concept behind the track.
